A friend of mine’s dad used to be in the Navy, and he once told us that he would drink an average of thirty cups of coffee a day while on tour. Un. Freaking. Believable. Right? And while the sailors’ penchant for java was the by-product of alcohol being outlawed on naval ships, I’d like to pay tribute to the nautical coffee obsession (and the navy’s resulting resistance to caffeine-induced heart attacks and shakes) by sipping my brew from these lovely maritime mugs.
